Gemma Arterton is seen on the set of a new show based on Nick Horby’s Funny Girl for the FIRST TIME … as she impresses in a blonde wig and retro dress to time travel to Blackpool for years 60










Gemma Arterton was spotted on the set of her new Sky Original show for the first time on Monday, where she was seen transformed into a 60s mermaid.

The former Bond girl, 35, took to the streets of Blackpool in a faded blonde wig and retro-inspired dress as she got to work filming the series, which is an unnamed adaptation of the novel in Nick Hornby’s hit, Funny Girl.

The sighting comes after shots from the currently untitled comedy series show the talented actress, as Barbara Parker, a charismatic young woman who holds the title Miss Blackpool.

Gemma looked stunning on set, as she was seen in Barbara’s costume while sporting the appropriate ensemble for the moment.

Cars from the ’60s raced through the streets while the extras were dressed in costumes to look straight out of the decade alongside Gemma’s crisp look.

Joining Gemma in the Blackpool-based miniseries will be Rupert Everett as Barbara Brian Debehnam’s agent, David Threlfall as her father George, and Tom Bateman as dangerously charming actor Clive.

Gemma’s latest look is a far cry from her typical brunette beauty, as, in true Swingin ‘Sixties style, the St. Trinian star wears her luscious locks in an iconic beehive.

Her green eyeshadow pops against her blushed makeup, while her strawberry-red pout exudes glamor.

The comedy-drama Sky Original will be available on Sky Max and the streaming service NOW in 2022.
