Samsung Galaxy S22 series color variants, S Pen support

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is being touted as the next non-foldable flagship series from the South Korean tech giant. Now its color options and some specs have surfaced online. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is expected to include the Vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 +, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The first two would have four color options and the last would have three color options. Samsung would also pack an S Pen with the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a dedicated slot.

A report (in Dutch) from the Galaxy Club indicates the new color options that will be available with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. The vanilla Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + are reportedly available in black, green, rose gold, and white color options. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have black, dark red, and white color options. The green colorway is rumored to be similar to the phantom green color available on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 - launched in India in August. The Rose Gold color option would also be different from the Galaxy S21 series.

The report also mentions that since Samsung is still far from launching the Galaxy S22 series, it is possible that it will add new color options. It is also possible that Samsung exclusively sells certain color options only through its official channels. Since there is no official confirmation, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.

In a post on Weibo, tipster Ice Universe shared that two of his sources have confirmed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will support the S Pen stylus. Unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra - which also came with an S Pen holder but was sold as an accessory - the Galaxy S22 Ultra would have a dedicated slot in the body that will house the stylus. The tipster also mentions that the corners of the smartphone might be less rounded than those of the Galaxy S21 series, but not as sharp as a Galaxy Note smartphone.

The integration of the S Pen into the body of the Galaxy S22 Ultra would be done using a 19.3: 9 aspect ratio for the display. Even though the S Pen’s case takes up space as part of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the tipster mentions that it will get a 5,000mAh battery, also visible in a 3C listing for the smartphone.
