Four people are in critical condition after an apparent lightning strike in a park in Washington, DC, authorities said Thursday evening.
DC Fire and EMS said it had responded to Lafayette Park, located in front of the White House, treating and transporting the four patients.

The National Weather Service had a severe thunderstorm warning for the area Thursday evening.
