Absa launched QR payments as part of a campaign to reduce physical transactions.

Customers registered on the Absa Mobile Banking app can now scan any QR code on the market, such as Zapper, SnapScan and [email protected]

Absa said she will process payments securely, without having to download other service provider apps.

All payment processing will be subject to customer authentication using the PIN code of their Absa Banking application. This is aimed at giving customers the peace of mind that all transactions are fully secure, the bank said.

“As a sign of confidence in the security of Absa’s QR payments, customers automatically benefit from the security of Absa’s industry-first free digital fraud guarantee to which all customers who use the mobile banking app Absa have access, ”says Cowyk Fox, Managing Director: Everyday Banking, Absa Retail and Business Bank.
