Arsenal midfielder agent Mohamed Elneny has revealed his client has decided to renew his contract at Emirates Stadium.
ElnenyThe Gunners’ career has turned out to be a pleasant story from manager Mikel Arteta’s reign to this day. The Egyptian was on loan at Besiktas for the 2019/20 season, with Arteta replacing Unai Emery in December 2019. It looked like the player had no future at Arsenal, but Arteta gave him a new lease of life.
Indeed, Elneny has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, including 16 Premier League games.
As a result, discussions have surfaced that he could win a new contract, with his current terms expiring next summer.
The Egypt international said two weeks ago: “Of course for me I’m still loyal to Arsenal. If Arsenal told me: ‘Sign a new contract’, of course, I would be delighted to do so. “
According to his agent, his client made the final decision to stay in North London.
Alan Nazmy told Egyptian press (via The sun): “Elneny will renew her contract with Arsenal. He will not go to Galatasaray or Turkey.
“Elneny never thought of leaving. He is happy to Arsenal, and Arteta trust him.
Nonetheless, Nazmy added that his client had attracted suitors following his recent exhibitions for Arsenal.
It added: “There are several offers for Mohamed Eleney and in the coming period things will be decided whether to accept any of these offers or continue to queue at Arsenal.”
“Leaving for the Turkish league is among the rumors surrounding Mohamed,” he said. Yallakora.
“The player still has one season on his contract, and we are currently working on the contract renewal.
“The player’s ambitions are to continue after winning the confidence of his coach Arteta. This is his first choice.
Elneny reveals Arteta’s help
Speaking earlier this month about his intention to sign a new contract, Elneny also revealed how Arteta has helped him re-establish himself in the squad.
The midfielder said: “Before I came back Mikel didn’t talk to me, but after the start of the season he started talking to me.
“And he said, ‘Mo, we have new things now. We have to understand how I want the midfielder to play and still if you don’t understand something about the new system you have now come and ask me ”.
“He was helping me so much understand the way he wanted us to play and that’s what helped me a lot.”
