AIDS Walk Los Angeles returns in person for the first time since 2019

On October 16, AIDS Walk Los Angeles returns for the first time since 2019.

ABC7 is a proud sponsor of the event.

This year’s theme, “Be All Over It,” takes place in West Hollywood Park and calls on people to “stop being silent about the issues they (they) are passionate about.”

The purpose of the walk is to raise money and build support and awareness of HIV/AIDS. Funds raised through this event will benefit APLA Health and other HIV/AIDS organizations in Los Angeles County.

“Our passion and energy for change is still as strong today as it was during the first-ever AIDS Walk Los Angeles,” said Craig E. Thompson, CEO of APLA Health. “Only now are we seeing a world where attention has been diverted, where health rights are threatened at the highest level and where access to quality health care is not guaranteed for everyone.”

Thompson continued, “For 39 years, APLA Health has been working to increase access to care, provide resources to underserved communities and fight for HIV advocacy. Unfortunately, significant progress needs to be made in the fight for justice in healthcare. “
