After courting famous and beautiful women, including The Voice host Emma Willis, the late Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, and actress Sadie Frost, TV host Alex Zane finally settled down with trendy performer Nettie Wakefield last summer.
However, I hear that the couple has already broken up, barely five months after their wedding in London.
“At the end of last year we decided to separate,” confirms 43-year-old Zane, who proposed to 35-year-old Nettie in 2018 after a “whirlwind year-long romance.”

He explains, “We leave each other in the best way possible for two people who shared incredible experiences, full of love and laughter and as many happy memories as two people can make in that time.
“We remain best friends despite the decision to go our separate ways. Our friends and family have been very supportive during this time and we appreciate all the help we have received.”
The Yorkshireman adds: ‘Obviously it’s never easy to leave a relationship, but we move forward knowing we can rely on the other.

“It’s as amicable divorce as it gets, and of course we’ll continue to co-parent our whippet, Simon.”
I hear Nettie, who previously dated Poldark heartthrob Aidan Turner and was linked to Twilight star Robert Pattinson, is being comforted by male model Owen McGinnity, who was pictured with his arm around her at a party two months after their wedding party.
Nettie, whose artwork hangs in the capital’s Groucho Club and Maddox Gallery, had exchanged vows with Zane during the pandemic, but they were forced to limit their number of wedding guests due to Covid restrictions, as was the big celebration last August.

Zane previously said the celebration, held in July, was the wedding they “always planned” but couldn’t due to restrictions during the pandemic.
The TV star’s brother officiated at the ceremony, with the wedding party enjoying a carrot and maple cake and a speech from his mother.
Zane made a name for himself on Channel 4 co-presenting Popworld with Alexa Chung and the clip show Rude Tube.

After proposing to Nettie, a source said, “Alex has been knocked for six since he met Nettie.
“He’s totally in love and soon realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.”
Alex was previously romantically linked to a range of stars including Emma Willis, Sarah Harding, Pixie Geldof and Sadie Frost.

Meanwhile, Aidan van Nettie and Poldark split in 2017 after six months of dating with reports claiming they were “driven apart by conflicting work schedules.”
A source said at the time: ‘It was going great for a while and they got serious – but it just wasn’t to be and busy schedules drove them apart.
“They have drifted and things have cooled down, but there are no hard feelings. Aidan is incredibly busy with his career and Nettie’s art is really taking off, so they had a lot on their plate.’
