Dairy brand Amul has always attracted attention with its unique marketing strategies. Now that the World Cup is here, the brand has walked through memories of some of the former World Cup topics. Sharing the video, the brand wrote, “Let’s get ready for the biggest #football festival in the world by taking a trip down the memory lane with #Amul Topicals! The video features the brand’s first-ever FIFA-related topic created during the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Amul also paid tribute to legendary footballer Diego Maradona, who played for the winning Argentina national football team.

Over the years, the brand has created unique doodles on popular topics from around the world. Be it Virat Kohli’s outstanding performance at the ongoing T20 World Cup or Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday. The brand also poked fun at French midfielder Zinedine Zidane. The player was shown a red card for headbutting Italian defender Marco Materazzi during the 2006 World Cup match in Germany. In 2010, the brand made a topic about Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) by singer Shakira.

The mega sports tournament takes place every four years and attracts football fans from all over the world. This is the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East.
