Aylward de Tysers in the delegated underwriting authority division of BMS; JLT / Marsh’s Beere to Aston Lark Unit Incepta; Jenner from Howden to Oneglobal


This Global People Moves recap details recent appointments at three London-based brokers: BMS, Incepta (a subsidiary of Aston Lark backed by Goldman Sachs) and Oneglobal Broking.

BMS, a London-based insurance and reinsurance broker, announced the appointment of Marc Aylward as Managing Director of its new London Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) division and programs, to lead BMS expansion in the industry, primarily in the US

He will join BMS at the end of his current contractual obligations and will report to Hannah watkins, Managing Director, BMS Re.

Aylward has over 20 years of experience in the delegated authority market. Most recently, he was Director of the North American and International Property team at Tysers.

“Last year, we combined our expertise in reinsurance and DUA insurance into one team. The DUA space continues to evolve, as do the needs of our coverholders – from alternative structures to analysis to the implementation of interclass strategies, ”said Watkins.

“To achieve this, we offer a holistic approach to our clients, working closely with our program experts in our reinsurance operations in the United States,” she added.


Aston Alouette, the Goldman Sachs-backed insurance brokerage, announced the appointment of Robert beere as director of Lloyd’s broker, Incepta, a subsidiary of Aston Lark.

Well known in the insurance market and with 23 years of experience, Beere is a Lloyd’s and London market broker specializing in real estate and package deals. He joins Aston Lark from JLT / Marsh, where he has spent the past 15 years, most recently as Regional Director of London Market Risks. Previously, he spent four years as a property insurance broker for Aon.

Robert beere

Beere will be responsible for driving the group’s property and casualty business forward in the London market, both in terms of supporting the group’s own investment requirements and expanding the distribution of third-party wholesale brokers.

Acquired by the Aston Lark Group in August 2020, Incepta is an established Lloyd’s wholesale broker with an appetite for business in the UK developed through successful underwriting records as well as efficient open market brokerage. Incepta specializes in providing P&C insurance and professional indemnity solutions in the London market to regional brokers, with a focus on high service standards and market expertise.

Current directors of Incepta Paul smith and Clive gilbert will be leaving the company this summer.


Oneglobal Brokerage, the London-based brokerage firm, has announced the appointment of Marc Jenner as President of Energy.

With over 30 years of experience in the energy insurance industry, Jenner comes from Howden where he was Executive Director of the Energy division. Previously, he had a distinguished career as a broker with independent energy brokerage firms including Agnew Higgins Pickering and JFS. He started his career with Willis.

Jenner will join Oneglobal once he fulfills his contractual obligations to his current employer.
