PHILADELPHIA (UKTN) – Several Philadelphia-area schools are achieving high marks in this year’s ranking of the nation’s best public high schools. US News & World Report’s Best High Schools 2021 were ranked based on college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underachievement of students, extent of college program and graduation rates.
In Pennsylvania, Julia R. Masterman’s Philly High School in Spring Garden was ranked the best high school in the Commonwealth – and 18th best in the country.

Downingtown STEM Academy in Downingtown, Chester County, was the second best school in Pennsylvania and the 34th in the country.
Central High School in the Logan neighborhood of Philadelphia was the third best school in Pennsylvania and ranked 229th nationally. Radnor High School was 4th in Pennsylvania and 265th in the country. Conestoga High School was 5th in Pennsylvania and 294th in the country.

In Delaware, the Charter School of Wilmington is the best in the state and 74th overall.
And the top ranked school in South Jersey is Haddonfield Memorial High School, which ranks 39th in the Garden State and 874th in the country.
