Jim Rogers is an American investor and financial commentator based in Singapore with decades of experience in the field.
He is chairman of Beeland Interests and co-founder of both the Quantum Fund and Soros Fund Management.
Rogers also created the Rogers International Commodities Index (RICI), which tracks 38 commodities futures from 13 international exchanges.
In this Business Talk interview, Rogers discusses how the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has had a major impact on the global economy.
He speculates that the situation could eventually require even tougher measures than those taken in the past to curb rising inflation.
Rogers explains how this could lead to a significant shift in the balance of power and the decline in the United States’ global financial influence.
He then argues that the rise of dictatorial leaders could lead to an increasingly regulated global financial landscape with more closed economies and more conflict.
He also notes that within a decade we will likely face a significant economic crisis due to skyrocketing debt, which could lead to more trade wars.
