The Central Council for Secondary Education (CBSE) canceled the council exams for grades 10 and 12 amid the current pandemic situation, but private students – those who are repeating the class or signing up to improve – will have to take the exams.
The CBSE announced on Wednesday that it will hold exams for the private category of applicants between August 16 and September 15, in line with policy set by the Supreme Court.
“This result will also be declared as soon as possible to avoid any difficulty of admission to higher education. The notification in this regard will be published soon”, indicates the opinion of the CBSE.
The board also informed that the results of private candidates cannot be prepared without conducting exams, as neither the schools nor the board have an assessment record.
UGC and CBSE are examining the interest of all students and UGC will synchronize the admission schedule based on the outcome of these students, as was done by UGC in 2020, CBSE said.
Earlier today, a group of private candidates staged a protest outside the headquarters of the CBSE, alleging a disparity between them and regular candidates.
