Chris Evans Would Love To Return For The MCU’s Fantastic Four As The Human Torch

Chris Evans is interested in reprising his role as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch from the 2005 superhero film The Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, as the character didn’t quite recoup back in the day. Plus, he’d prefer this to another run as Captain America, the cult character he last played in 2019’s blockbuster Avengers: Endgame, even though the man with the shield will always be him” so precious”.

Evans told MTV News, “You know what I mean? Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don’t want to upset what a great experience it was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he hasn’t really had his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows?

While Evans’ lyrics have garnered a lot of attention, it’s unlikely we’ll see him set our screens on fire as the Human Torch in the near future. To begin with, he was not approached for the The Fantastic Four reboot, which was to be directed by Jon Watts before he decided to work on the Jude Law-led Disney+ series Skeletal Crew. Additionally, Evans is rumored to be able to play Captain America at least once more in a future MCU project, though he said it would be “tall” to convince him to go that route.

Evans’ comments, however, come at a time when he is going through a busy phase on the labor front. He voiced the title character in the animated sci-fi adventure film Light year, which plays in cinemas around the world, but was unable to make a strong impact at the box office. Evans will soon be seen alongside Ryan Gosling in the spy thriller The gray man, which premieres July 22 on Netflix. It also has the action adventure Ghosted and the action comedy The Red in his cat.
