Indian wrestler Anshu Malik secured India its first medal in wrestling when she defeated Sri Lanka’s Nethi Poruthotage in the women’s 57kg freestyle semifinal on Friday at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Reaching the final, Anshu secured India at least a silver in wrestling. Anshu only needed 64 seconds to beat her Sri Lankan opponent, via technical superiority.

Anshu had started her campaign on Friday against Australian Irene Symeonidis and had spelled out a similar result in an exact manner – a 64-second victory via technical superiority.
On the other hand, it was also the same story with Sakshi. Complete domination in the women’s 62kg semifinals. Sakshi Malik (62 kg) will take on Berthe Emilienne Etane Ngolle from Cameroon. She sailed easily to the final and is assured of at least silver.
