Dancing On Ice’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu ‘will cover up in a less racy costume’ for next show – after sparking 100 Ofcom complaints with ‘sexiest ever’ routine
Dancing On Ice’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu will reportedly cover up in a less racy costume when she performs on Sunday’s show.
The 28-year-old Love Island winner wears a standard long-sleeved costume with a skirt, so viewers can focus on her performance.
Last week, she donned a skimpy leotard and created the memorable scene from Love Island, where she crawled on the floor and sparked more than 100 Ofcom complaints from viewers who thought the routine was too racy for the family-friendly series.
Subdued: Dancing On Ice’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu will reportedly cover up in a less sassy costume as she performs on Sunday’s show
A source has now told The Sun: ‘Ekin is a strong character and will come back fighting. She has a lot more to give in the series and has been practicing hard.
“Being in the bottom two is always difficult, but she hopes to survive another week.
“She’s proud of her curves, but likes to wear a more covered costume so fans are less distracted and can focus on her skating.”
Representatives from Ekin-Su and ITV have been approached by UKTN for comment.
Oh no: Last week she donned a skimpy leotard, sparking more than 100 Ofcom complaints from viewers who thought the routine was too racy for the family-friendly series
Ekin-Su certainly brought some fire to the rink, stepping out in a nude mesh jumpsuit with a dramatic embellished detail.
The ensemble was a recreation of the one Britney Spears wore in her Toxic music video – to which the reality star danced.
The former Love Island star recreated her famous crawling scene from the ITV2 show, with host Holly Willoughby calling the routine the show’s ‘sexiest dance ever’.
Unlucky: The 28-year-old Love Island winner is now wearing a standard long-sleeved suit with a skirt so viewers can focus on her performance, it is claimed
But it didn’t go down well with everyone, as the show received 112 Ofcom complaints following the routine – and the Turkish beauty received the lowest number of public votes.
The actress crawled across the ice during the performance, an ode to the famous Love Island scene in which she crawled across the terrace of the villa to kiss fellow islander Jay Younger behind partner Davide Sanclimenti’s back.
The sultry routine also saw her lie on her back and be swept into partner Brendyn’s arms, with a slew of animated facial expressions.
Ekin-Su and professional skater Brendyn Hatfield were marked mid of the standings by the judges, who gave a score of 21.5.
But while they agreed the star definitely had sex appeal, they were hoping for a little more from the performance.
‘It was very sexy. But what I want more of is the skating,” said judge Jayne Torvill. Ashley agreed when he said, “Skate on your own without holding Brendyn, show us what you can do.”

Many viewers also took to social media to call the routine “inappropriate” for the family show, which will air before the watershed.
But the performance was a hit with Ekin-Su’s friend Davide, who was in the audience and teased that he “couldn’t wait” to take her home.
Later in the show, the public vote revealed that the Love Island star received the lowest number of public votes and will be skated off with another star on this week’s show.
