DENTON, Texas (UKTN) – An investigation is underway into an incident in which a suspect forced a woman into her SUV at gunpoint in a Denton neighborhood on Saturday morning, police said.
Police said they responded to the 2000 Del Mar court block just before 11:45 a.m. The victim told officers an SUV approached her while she was walking her dog and the driver exited. a gun and told him to get in the vehicle.

Police said the victim said she entered but was able to escape after a short distance without injuring herself. The suspect left before the officers arrived.
A precise description of the suspect was not available, but police released a photo of the vehicle the suspect was driving. It is described as an older silver or light blue SUV with a dark interior.

Police also said a “surprisingly similar incident” was reported by a victim to the Corinth Police Department around 15 minutes before the Denton incident. The two incidents have not been confirmed to be linked, but authorities are examining the possibility.
