The Oyo State Police Command said on Monday that as many as five thousand two hundred and ninety-six (5,296) police officers have been deployed to secure places of worship, recreation facilities and financial institutions. .
The command noted that this action was becoming necessary in view of the upcoming Easter celebrations.
The command in a statement made available to DAILY POST through the command’s public relations officer Olugbenga Fadeyi, urged residents to comply with COVID-19 protocols.
Fadeyi, in the statement issued on behalf of Police Commissioner Ngozi Onadeko, added that effective plans have also been put in place to control all entry and exit points and other parts of the state by aggressive arrests and searches.
He assured residents that places of worship, recreation centers, financial institutions and other public facilities would be properly protected.
