Known for its electric cars and autonomous driving technology, you’d be surprised if Elon Musk’s latest car isn’t a technological marvel or a bold move. In fact, Musk’s new car is a six-wheeler that has been added to his personal garage. The boss of Tesla and SpaceX recently took to Twitter to share the image of his new car. He wrote: “Me in my new sick car (I left him the money)”. However, before you hope it’s a new retro-mod Tesla or Musk’s extravagant display of wealth, here are the car’s true origins.

The tweet shared by Musk shows a golden convertible with six tires and detailed artwork. However, take a closer look and the image will look a bit graphic in nature. Indeed, the image is a screenshot from the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. The action role-playing video game was released late last year and is published by C Projekt. The car is part of the game, not the real deal.
Since Musk posted the image on April 3, 2021, the tweet has garnered over 2.43 lakh likes and over 11,800 retweets, at the time of this report’s publication. It has also caused enough confusion among Musk followers. While one section of followers thought of it as a real buy and chose to cast a shadow over the entrepreneur for his public display of wealth, the other section quickly picked up on the joke.

Elon Musk is known to be an avid gamer, especially Cyberpunk 2077. Earlier this year, Musk tweeted about the possibility of playing the video game on the gaming computer inside the Tesla Model S.
