Arsenal legend Martin Keown has warned Mikel Arteta he risks losing his job, following a 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague on Thursday.
The Gunners took the lead thanks to Nicolas Pepe with four minutes remaining, but conceded a late tie in their Europa League quarter-final first leg at home.
Keown has now warned that Arteta risks being sacked if things continue to go against Arsenal.
He said on BT Sport: “Very disappointing and really it’s going to be difficult for Arteta now.
“He’s made a lot of changes at the football club, a lot of people have been allowed to go, and it’s his team now, basically.
“There have been a lot of problems at Arsenal for a number of years, with some players coming in and out of the football club, so not everything is at their doorstep.
“But he’s in charge now, and he can’t seem to get the team’s reaction.
“He was disappointed at the end there. He encourages people to play, and then at the end when he doesn’t want them to play, that’s a mixed message, isn’t it?
“They have to do the right things at the right time and they make botched mistakes and it cost them tonight.
