And the 48-year-old says she’s been traumatized by the Hunstman spiders she’s encountered in the country.

‘The spiders… Hunter… One ugly word, Hunter. That’s been hard,” she told Yahoo on Friday.

“It’s so funny, everyone apologizes to me, and then what they say, you guys are so sweet, they say, ‘But they’re harmless!’

“And I’m like, ‘No, psychological, emotional damage has been done!'”

Huntsman are common spiders in Australia and they are not venomous, but due to their large size of up to 15 cm (5 in) and tendency to jump long distances, they can be frightening.

Eva says the couple’s daughters, Esmeralda Amada, eight, and Amada Lee, six, were disappointed not to see native animals on Sydney’s streets.

“At first they really thought they’d see kangaroos and like koalas everywhere, and I thought, ‘They’re not on the street,'” she said.

“Really cute, but you hate smashing their dreams. I wanted to ask Ryan to dress up like a kangaroo and just hop around a bit. And we would too!’

“They realized we had to go somewhere to see [the animals]. But no, they love it. The beaches here are really special’.

On Friday, the American actress told Daily Mail Australia that despite being away from home, the couple are doing their best to treat the parents normally.

‘I have to do normal things. I have a six-year-old and an eight-year-old, so you have to do what a mother does,” she said.

“You have to go to the park, you have to go to class, you have to do the usual things. So it’s been really great. Everyone is super chill and super cool about everything.”

Eva told Daily Mail Australia that she, Ryan and their children have explored Sydney and fallen in love with the Northern Beaches, which are about an hour from the city centre.

“My favorite thing is hard because there are so many favorite things, but I’m going to say the Northern Beaches,” she said.

While most tourists and visitors prefer the beaches in the eastern suburbs, Eva and Ryan have come to love the picturesque coast in the north.

“We just went up and explored some beaches. Pretty epic,” she said.

Eva and Ryan started dating in September 2011 after working together on the movie The Place Beyond The Pines.
