Firefighters say an aerial survey of Coronet Peak this morning found no visible smoke from a major vegetation fire on Skippers Road.
Fire and Emergency said two crews at the Long Gully fire pit were investigating hot spots identified by thermal imaging.
Incident controller Nic McQuillan said the flight also confirmed that a historic cabin was not damaged.
Skippers Road reopened this morning, but four mountain bike trails will remain closed until tomorrow.
