Gasoline and Diesel Rates Today in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad: Gasoline and diesel prices have remained unchanged for fourteen consecutive days now. Fuel prices were last cut on April 15 after remaining unchanged for fifteen consecutive days. Today, the price of gasoline in Delhi is Rs 90.40 per liter, while diesel prices were Rs 80.73 per liter. Fuel prices remain the highest in Mumbai, at Rs 96.83 per liter for gasoline. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) daily revise fuel prices on the basis of international reference prices and exchange rates.
The cost of gasoline in Bombay is the highest of major cities today at Rs 96.83 per liter, while diesel in the country’s finance capital costs Rs 87.81 per liter. The price discrepancy between Delhi and Mumbai is due to different prices in different cities. Gasoline and diesel prices are set on the basis of transport costs, local taxes and VAT. Currently, the base price of gasoline in Delhi is Rs 32.67 per liter with a transport charge of Rs 0.28 per liter. Dealers are charged Rs 32.95 per liter, an excise duty of Rs 32.90 per liter is added to the same. The dealer commission of Rs 3.69 per liter is added to the same, as well as Rs 20.86 per liter of VAT.
