“Has Virat accomplished everything in life?” : Ex-Pak skipper questions Kohli’s ‘attitude’

Virat Kohli will not look back with emotion on IPL 2022, even though Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) reached the playoffs, it was a tumultuous season for Kohli on a personal level as he continues to go through a period of leanness.

The 33-year-old last scored a century in 2019, and as he continues to find his stride, Kohli was asked about his ‘attitude’ by former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi.

After suffering several golden ducks in the IPL 2022, Virat Kohli has been rested for the ongoing five-game T20I series against South Africa.

A generational batsman in his prime, the former India and RCB captain’s performances left much to be desired, leading to him being criticized by Afridi who questioned Kohli’s desire to achieve again the peak of his art.

“In cricket, attitude matters the most. That’s what I talk about the most. Do you have the attitude towards cricket or not? That Kohli, earlier in his career, wanted to be the No. 1 batsman in the Is everyone still playing cricket with the same motivation? That’s the big question,” Afridi said on Samaa TV.

The veteran further questioned Kohli’s motivation adding that he should forget his past achievements and think about pushing himself again.

“He’s got class. But does he really want to be No. 1 again? Or does he think he’s achieved everything in life. Now relax and pass the time? It’s all about attitude,” said Shahid Afridi.

Kohli recently went on vacation with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika, before flying to England for the next round of testing in India and the postponed fifth test from last year, which is expected to be played out from the 1st to July 5.
