Hero MotoCorp to lead COVID-19 vaccination campaign
Hero MotoCorp has launched an organization-wide COVID-19 vaccination campaign, including its permanent and temporary employees. The company will bear the cost of the vaccination campaign for its staff. The company will also facilitate a similar vaccination initiative at its group companies such as Hero FinCorp, Hero Future Energies, Rockman Industries, Hero Electronix and AG Industries. According to a company statement, Hero MotoCorp is also working closely with its dealers and supply chain partners to facilitate a similar vaccination for their employees.

More than 80,000 employees, including all Hero MotoCorp staff, group companies and supply chain partners will be covered under this initiative. In addition, a similar campaign will be launched for Hero MotoCorp’s pan-Indian dealer network, the company said in the statement. The vaccination initiative will cover the two injections of the Covid-19 vaccine in phases as defined by health authorities, and will be implemented according to guidelines prescribed by the government, covering people over 45 and those with co-morbidities first, followed by wider application in the general population.

In March 2020, the Hero Group was one of the first companies to pledge ₹ 100 crore as aid for COVID-19 relief efforts in the country. Of that, ₹ 50 crore was donated to the PM-Cares fund and the remaining ₹ 50 crore was spent on other relief efforts, the company said. As part of its ongoing relief efforts, Hero MotoCorp has so far distributed over 23 lakhs meals, over 37,805 ration kits, over 37,700 liters of disinfectants, over 45 lakhs face masks and over 57,000 kits. PPE at government hospitals, police departments and other agencies.

Hero MotoCorp also donated 60 unique, custom-built first responder (LIF) vehicles as an upgrade to the powerful Xtreme 200R motorcycle, to various government authorities in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, India ‘Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha.
