‘Humiliated by the light they put me in, sobbed for 14 days’: Britney Spears breaks silence on new documentary

American singer-songwriter Britney Spears recently revealed that the most recent documentary about her life was very humiliating and made her cry. The 39-year-old singer shared an Instagram post on Tuesday that features her in Aerosmith’s’Crazy‘, in which she first addressed the documentary, writing that she didn’t watch it but was “embarrassed” by the parts she saw and “cried for two weeks.”

“I didn’t watch the story but from what I saw I was humbled by the light they put me in. I sobbed for about fourteen days and finally … I cry sometimes !!!! ” Spears wrote.

Earlier in the post, the ‘Toxic‘crooner reflected on how she had been brutally judged by the media during her career and said she still is “to this day”.

“My life has always been very speculated … watched … and really judged all my life !!!” Spears wrote.

“For my mental strength, I need to switch to @iamstevent my whole life to feel wild, human and invigorated !!! But, the singer ended her post on a lighter note, writing that “dancing everyday” brings her joy and that she is not “here to be perfect”.

Although Spears did not participate in the documentary, Coaching Britney Spears, it brought a deep leap in media portrayal of the singer and the occasions that led her to her tutelage under her father, Jamie Spears, in 2008.
