India begins debt restructuring talks with Sri Lanka

NEW DELHI: India said on Tuesday it had entered into bilateral talks with Sri Lanka on restructuring the debt of its crisis-stricken neighbor.

The first round was held on Sept. 16 “in a cordial atmosphere,” demonstrating India’s support for early completion and approval of an International Monetary Fund loan program for Sri Lanka, the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said.
