India Squad For Zimbabwe ODIs: Shikhar Dhawan Leads, Deepak Chahar Returns From Injury | Cricket News

The BCCI on Saturday announced Team India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe, which begins in Harare on August 18. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the 15-man squad, with permanent captain Rohit Sharma taking a rest. Deepak Chahar is also returning to the team after a long-term injury.

Veteran Dhawan recently led India to a 3-0 victory over the West Indies in the ODI series, where several seniors such as Rohit, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah rested. The selectors seem to follow the same pattern here.

The return of Deepak Chahar means the fast bowling all-rounder is back to full fitness.

This will be a crucial series for Chahar to prove his fitness. He also hopes to play at T20Is so that he can claim a spot in the squad for the T20 World Cup.
