Chetan Sharma, the chairman of the men’s national selection committee, said on Friday he had received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The former Indian pacemaker also urged those eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine to get vaccinated. “I received my first Covid vaccine. I hope everyone who is eligible will have to do so as soon as possible. # Vaccinated #Beatcovid,” Sharma tweeted. Former cricketers Kapil Dev and Madan Lal received the first dose of coronavirus last month.

Former Indian drummer Sachin Tendulkar informed last Saturday that he had tested positive for coronavirus and added that all other members of his home had returned a negative COVID-19 result.
On Friday, Tendulkar said he was hospitalized for “abundant precaution under medical advice”. He also wished his fan the 10th anniversary of India’s historic 2011 World Cup triumph.
“Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As an abundant precaution under medical advice, I was hospitalized. I hope to be back home in a few days. Be careful and stay safe everyone. Wishing all Indians and my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup victory, ”he wrote.
Besides Tendulkar, S Badrinath, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan also tested positive for Covid-19 last week. All had shared the India Legends locker room during the Road Safety World Series disputed in Raipur with the presence of supporters inside the stadium.
