Jim Ross explains why he only called six games at AEW Full Gear

In the latest “Grilling JR” podcast, Jim Ross was asked if he only announced the first six games on AEW Full Gear. Ross said that after leaving the broadcast booth, he watched the rest of the show on his iPad from his hotel room, but would have liked to call the main event. Ross said it was Tony Khan’s call to call six matches on the main card.

Ross said: “Tony Kahn wanted me to work the first six games and I did, and then I was done. I would have loved to have worked the last game, you know, obviously as a fan, as a broadcaster. I’m a huge fan from Jon Moxley. I thought it was going to be MJF’s night. It looked like it was time. We’ll see how that works out. I hope it works out. We’ll see. MJF has Got to get my hands on the championship and be that great leader that we need him to be. As you can see, he looked great. He was in great shape, or the best shape he’s ever been in. So in that respect it was interesting I thought they had a solid match.
