John Laurinaitis was never scheduled to be on Friday’s WWE SmackDown

WWE Talent Relations Manager John Laurinaitis is part of the investigation the WWE Board of Directors launched in April regarding Vince McMahon.

As previously reported, McMahon was accused of paying a WWE paralegal $3 million to keep a case quiet. It was alleged in an email that McMahon “gave her as a toy” to Laurinaitis. The investigation extended to other non-disclosure agreements that involved allegations of misconduct made by other former WWE employees about McMahon and Laurinaitis.

It was reported earlier this week that McMahon and Laurinaitis were planning to be on SmackDown on Friday night. McMahon appeared on the show for a short promo in the character’s opening segment.

During today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Laurinaitis was never scheduled for Friday’s show. However, if it’s not on Monday’s Raw, something could happen.

“John Laurinaitis wasn’t supposed to be in Minneapolis tonight. So the fact that he wasn’t there isn’t necessarily some kind of story. I mean he wasn’t there, but he there were rumors on the internet that he was there. He wasn’t there and didn’t plan on being there. I think he’s supposed to be there on Monday, but I’m not 100% sure. But s “He’s not here on Monday, I would say there might be a story. As far as he’s concerned, it’s going to be tough for him just because of the position he’s in for one. Vince is the boss and it’s obviously harder to get rid of him, but for John, it’s a bad look.
