Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has approached a court here requesting that her sister Rangoli Chandel’s statement be included in the defamation complaint filed by veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar. According to PTI’s report, Ranaut moved the application for Metropolitan Magistrate RR Khan on Friday through her attorney Attorney Rizwan Siddique.

The court adjourned the case on August 11. Last month, Ranaut appeared in court of the metropolitan magistrate and pleaded not guilty in the case. Akhtar had filed the complaint in court in November 2020, alleging that Ranaut had made defamatory statements against him in a television interview, allegedly damaging his reputation.

According to Ranaut’s complaint, Akhtar had forced her to offer a written apology to her opponent.

For the inexperienced, Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar has alleged that actor Kangana Ranaut’s counsel deliberately made a misleading statement in the Bombay Supreme Court on June 28 to get favorable orders to have her passport renewed.
