Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) drummer Nitish Rana, who contracted coronavirus before returning a negative result, resumed training for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) on Friday. Nitish had tested negative for the coronavirus after returning a positive result on March 22. After self-isolating after testing positive, he tested for COVID-19 on Thursday and tested negative again.

After an extended 12-day quarantine, Nitish entered the pitch for the first time on Friday with an eye on the opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11.

“Obviously I didn’t expect the tests to be positive. I had taken all kinds of precautions but despite this I contracted COVID. The protocols I had to follow, the BCCI guidelines, j ‘ve been following it all, “Nitish said in a video shared by KKR on Saturday.

“Finally, I’m out now, and I feel absolutely good. It was the first day for me, I also hit a bit. I’m happy to have been able to join my KKR teammates,” he said. added.

Having just recovered from the coronavirus, the KKR drummer urged everyone to stay safe and take all necessary precautions against COVID-19.

“This is a message to all of you. Please take precautions (against the virus). And don’t take it lightly. Because you never know how it can affect our bodies. So please take it. take care of yourself, ”Nitish said.

Meanwhile, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has completed his 40s and started training with the KKR team in Mumbai on Saturday.

Harbhajan missed the final IPL season for personal reasons and will feature for KKR in the cash-rich league which kicks off April 9.

KKR shared a video in which the off-spinner can be seen coming out of his hotel room all packed to practice. The Indian spinner began his seven-day proxy quarantine on March 27.

The IPL kicks off on April 9 with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians facing off at the opening of the tournament. KKR will play their first game on April 11 against SunRisers Hyderabad.
