Liam is set to perform at the 2021 British Academy Film Awards using augmented reality to create an avatar that will appear on viewers’ phones.
The singer will take the stage at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday as part of the awards show, which will take place this weekend on UKTN One.
In a world premiere, Liam will be recorded live and streamed to fans across the UK on their mobile phones via the AR The Round app.

At night, the star’s body, facial movements and live audio data will instantly be transformed into 3D animations to create an immersive experience.
He will wear a motion capture suit containing sensors that pick up his every move and a headset specially designed to track his face and voice.
This data will be synchronized live and transmitted in real time so fans across the UK can enjoy the live performance on their phones, wherever they are.

The platinum artist, who has sold over 23 million singles since going solo, will then be joined by his avatar as a hologram on stage as he performs.
