Florence Ajimobi, wife of the late Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi, said life was short.
She advised Nigerians to show gratitude and share with others despite the challenges in Nigeria.
Florence spoke to leaders of the Union of Journalists of Nigeria (NUJ), Oyo State Council, about iftar (breaking the fast) at her Oluyole residence in Ibadan.
The widow said life outside the office was generally different, but noted that she was prepared.
“I was prepared for a lot of betrayal and hostility, but I didn’t get it. I say this with all the sense of sincerity.
“Life is short. For everyone you love, let them know you appreciate them. For everyone you love, show them and tell them as many times as you can as you love them.”
Florence remembers that her husband admired journalists and loved being with them.
Ajimobi’s wife vowed that she would do anything to immortalize her husband and defend his legacy.
Oyo State NUJ President Alhaji Ademola Babalola thanked her for the love and honor bestowed on the union.
Babalola congratulated Florence on her existence and urged her to respect the heritage.
