Olympian Manu Bhaker won the women’s 25 meter pistol competition on Thursday and won the women’s and junior women’s individual gold at the 65th National Shooting Championship Competitions in New Delhi on Thursday. Bhaker had previously won the two team gold medals in the same event. In a great show, Bhaker, representing Haryana, defeated CRPF’s Pushpanjali Rana 33-27 in the women’s gold medal match here at the MP Shooting Academy range in Bhopal. Bhaker then defeated her statemate Vibhuti Bhatia 32-24 in the junior women’s title round to take an individual double. She had already secured both team golds at the events on Wednesday.
On Thursday, she placed second in the first semifinal of the women’s 25m pistol event to Pushpanjali to make it to the four women’s medal round.
In the juniors, she topped the second semifinal for a chance at a medal. Vibhuti won the women’s bronze, while Telangana’s Megana Sadula won the junior bronze.
At the Vattiyoorkkavu shooting range in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, where the rifle nationals take place, Samiksha Dhingra and Arjun from Punjab won the 10 meter air rifle mixed team competition with a smooth 17-5 victory over Shreya Agrawal and Harshit Binjwa from Madhya Pradesh.
Divyansh Singh Panwar and Nisha Kanwar from Rajasthan and Sri Karthik Sabari Raj and R Narmada from Tamil Nadu settled for bronze.
In the junior mixed team rifle event, Nancy and Gurmukh of Haryana won 16-10 against Karnataka’s Tilottama Sen and Darius.
Arya and Ranavir of Maharashtra and Mahit and Harsh of Chandigarh took the bronze.
