Media and Democrat member criticized government Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., for sending two planes carrying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard during multiple appearances on UKTN, MSNBC, NBC and UKTN on Sunday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams appeared on UKTN’s “State of the Union”, MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” and UKTN’s “This Week” on Sunday to discuss the migrants living in Martha’s Vineyard, alongside migrants taking buses to Washington DC, New York. York and other cities in the US UKTN’s Jake Tapper told Adams that it seemed he would agree that the crisis on the southern border needs more attention from President Biden’s administration.

“No. I believe it is a crisis that needs more coordination from our country,” Adams replied. “This is one country – this is a country that has always been able to deal with those who want to participate in the American dream. That coordination should be not just at the federal level, at the state level, but even from cities to cities. And we contacted Both the mayor of El Paso and our team tried to reach out to Governor Abbott They refused to do any formal coordination They think the politics of treating people in an inhumane way is to cover up what I believe what they have done in the area. human rights, the erosion of it in recent years is the best way to deal with it in their view. I just don’t agree with that,” he said.

Governor Greg Abbott, R-TX., has sent multiple buses carrying migrants from Texas to New York City.

NYC MAYOR ERIC ADAMS CLAIMS TEXAS GOV. ABBOTT ‘REFUSED ANY KIND OF COORDINATION’ ON MIGRANT BUSING

Adams was asked by UKTN’s Jonathan Karl about what the Biden government has told him about the overwhelming amount of migrants being sent to New York City. Adams reiterated the need for coordination by state and federal leadership.

Adams said he sat down with senators and other lawmakers in the Biden administration about coordination.

“Their goal is to make sure we get the resources and coordination needed,” he said.

“This is an American crisis that we must face – a humanitarian crisis that was man-made by some governors in our southern states,” he said.

New York City mayor told MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart that both DeSantis’s and Abbott’s actions were “inhumane” and “anti-American.” Abbott sent two buses carrying migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, DC, on Thursday.

CONCENTRATED WITH THE HISTORICAL BORDER CRISIS IN THE BIDEN ERA, GOP GOVERNORS GO ON THE OFFENSIVE

“When I saw what happened to Martha’s Vineyard and to the Vice President’s house, it clearly showed that this was not from Florida, where DeSantis claimed these were migrants who were in Florida. This is part of a political That’s what we need to understand. This is to cover up the human rights erosion that both governors have participated in and their attempt to really show other ways that they are eroding the human rights of individuals,” he added.

UKTN political commentator Scott Jennings argued that the purpose of sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard was “to make a bigger point about burden-sharing”.

“The crisis at the border is a burden that is borne entirely by Texas, Arizona and then those cities down there. That was the point. I’m not typically a fan of government trolling. But you know, I feel like every day rolled when I see the White House press secretary and the vice president and the president tell the American people, ‘Oh, the border is clear, there’s no problem.’ That’s the point, and they made it and we’re talking about it. Mission accomplished with that,” Jennings said.

Danielle Gibbs Léger, former senior adviser to Barack Obama and executive vice president of Communications and Strategy for American Progress, pushed Jennings back during UKTN’s “State of the Union” saying the migrants were being used as “political pawns.”

“This is the column in which the MAGA extremism takes over this party,” she said. “These migrants have been lied to, they’ve been misled. They thought they were going elsewhere and they got appointments across the country for Monday. So they’re making them fail.”

Senator Dick Durbin, D-IL., told NBC’s Chuck Todd that DeSantis was using migrants for “political purposes.”

“It is pathetic that these governors take advantage of these helpless people, make promises to them, get on the bus and life will be fine again and they will go places far removed from where they should appear under the requirements of our law in a matter of weeks and months,” Durbin said. “So he jeopardizes their stay in the United States when every governor makes this decision.”

Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, told UKTN’ Margaret Brennan that the US needs “solutions” and “not theater”.

“By sending people to New York and Chicago, it does draw attention, but I – we want to focus more on solutions at the border. We need to give Border Patrol, we need ICE, Homeland Security the equipment, make sure that they have everything where they can enforce the law because if we don’t have repercussions at the border, we’ll continue to get 8,000 people a day,” Cuellar said.

He said the migrants should be treated like people and said that “they are being used as political pawns to get publicity.”

During UKTN’s “This Week,” Karl asked former Mike Pence Chief of Staff Marc Short if he liked migrants being sent to the vice president’s residence.

Short said Abbott and DeSantis’ move to send migrants to Washington, DC and Martha’s Vineyard highlighted the “hypocrisy” and “false outrage” of Democrats and the media.

Karl pushed back, saying that “there’s a difference in doing it in a coordinated way and just showing up at Martha’s Vineyard.”
