Michigan police seize nearly $1 million worth of cocaine, 3 suspects arrested

Michigan State Police arrested three people and seized nearly $1 million worth of cocaine after a recent traffic stop.

Troopers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on July 27. The driver gave permission to search the vehicle after police noticed the occupants were acting suspiciously, MSP said, according to UKTN 17.

But the driver fled before the search could be completed. A woman and two small children were also in the car.

The vehicle would later crash, but no one was inside when the troopers arrived. Officers found 22 kilograms of cocaine in the car.

According to MSP, the recovered cocaine has an estimated street value of $985,000.

According to troopers, police were able to locate Daquane Wilson, 27, with a baby in an outhouse.

Another suspect, 22-year-old Jadzia Cobeo of New York, was found with a toddler near a swamp.

Police also arrested 50-year-old Nedra Thompson, MSP said.

All three suspects are residents of New York.

Wilson and Cobeo were charged with fleeing from authorities, resisting and obstruction, carrying more than 1,000 grams of cocaine with intent to deliver, and fourth-degree child abuse.

Thompson was charged with possession with intent to deliver and counterfeit money.

The three suspects all face a maximum life sentence behind bars and may face fines of up to $1 million.

The incident is being actively investigated, MSP said.
