MILLBRAE (UKTN SF) – A peninsula man has been arrested for allegedly running several neighborhood brothels in Millbrae and Daly City, as well as a number of illegal marijuana grow operations in the county.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday identified the suspect as Kevin Chao, 51, of Millbrae. According to a press release, detectives completed an investigation into Chao on October 5 and executed simultaneous search warrants at various locations in the residential areas of Millbrae and Daly City.

Detectives also raided “multiple” marijuana grow operations in residential areas in San Mateo County, police said.

The evidence seized included numerous guns, thousands of dollars, hundreds of marijuana plants and about 100 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana with a market value of over $ 250,000, police said.
Chao was incarcerated without incident in the San Mateo County Jail for pimping, procuring, conspiracy, cultivating marijuana, and possession for sale.

The sheriff’s office acknowledged help from the county’s narcotics, auto theft and gang units, as well as the San Francisco DEA and South San Francisco Police Department.
