MTN has announced that its MoMo (Mobile Money) subscribers will be able to cash and collect in 1,647 Pick n Pay stores across the country from April 1.
Customers must be registered on the MoMo app to use the new service and will also need an eight-digit voucher number and PIN to complete a MoMo transaction at the Pick n Pay point of sale checkouts.
Previously, MoMo customers could only cash out through bank EFTs, at an MTN store, or through a MoMo agent.
MTN said its MoMo service has no monthly fees or monthly fees. Withdrawal to Pick n Pay will be charged at a fixed amount of R8.
MoMo is available to all South African citizens regardless of the network they use and works on both smartphones and multifunction phones.
