Named Survivor star Kiefer Sutherland to be Plus500’s new campaign

The Hollywood star behind The Fugitive, 24, and Designated Survivor will appear on billboards across London as Plus500 targets potential ‘financially sophisticated’ customers.

It’s a vote of confidence in the Plus 500 market and comes as its rivals see their revenue plummet. A lockdown-inspired trading boom that saw thousands of new customers open financial trading accounts seems clearly over.

Last week, CMC Markets reported profits of £92m, down from £224m.

Plus500’s latest results suggest it is defying this crisis.

Sutherland announcements will be important in London, but also in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia.

Plus 500 denied how much he pays the actor.

Asked why Sutherland was the right face for this campaign, Managing Director David Zruia said: “We were looking for a globally recognized brand ambassador who is known for playing characters who exude confidence, confidence and experience. Kiefer was a natural fit.

It is also looking to go big in the US, targeting retail and professional traders who want the ability to trade futures.

Zruia said, “When you try to trade futures in the US, the platforms are very old. I don’t think there’s a direct competitor to what we want to do there.

Plus500 is best known in the UK for trading CFDs (contracts for difference). It was founded in 2008, listed on the stock exchange in 2013. It is now part of the FTSE 250.
