Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has just returned from a two-day trip to Bangladesh, will be back in the countryside today (March 30).
He will address election rallies in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry on Tuesday. The Prime Minister will start his day with a rally in Palakkad at 11 a.m. He will then travel to Dharapuram in Tamil Nadu at 12:50 p.m. for another rally before concluding the day’s campaign in Pondicherry at 4:35 p.m.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, addressing a rally in Thrissur, the defense minister targeted both the LDF and the UDF who have formed governments in Kerala alternately. He asked why, despite being the first state with a 100% literacy rate, Kerala was facing backwardness. “When the whole country redefines its aspiration and development trajectory, why is Kerala behind in this exercise?”
Congress Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also be in Kerala for at least seven corner meetings, a mainstay of Congress’ campaign strategy in the state. She will be staying in the state for another campaign day on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Modi was in Kerala and Tamil Nadu on February 14 when he launched several development projects, including a Chennai metro project and a petrochemical complex in Kerala.
In Kerala, the electoral battle largely opposes the LDF and UDF alliances. In Tamil Nadu, the DMK-Congress alliance is fighting against the AIADMK-BJP combine.
On April 6, 140 seats in Kerala, 234 in Tamil Nadu and 30 in Pondicherry will go to the polls in a single phase.
