Mikel Arteta has hinted that he hopes for a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard after revealing his summer transfer plans will have the full backing of Arsenal owners.
The club reported a loss of £ 47.8million for the 2019-20 fiscal year, most of it attributable to the Covid-19 pandemic. A fan ban saw Arsenal’s day income, which stood at £ 109million in 2018-19, wiped out. Arteta has admitted, however, that he has full backing from Kroenke Sports and Entertainment ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arteta He is generally expected to continue the slaughter, which began in January, on the club’s fringe players. “The team is going to be reflected in better performances, results and at the end of the season we will see where we are and have a discussion,” said Arteta.
“We know what we want to do, we have a plan that we are going to put in place. We know some scenarios may vary, we can’t really control. And they will depend on things that we cannot really determine today.
“But the plan is to go ahead with what we want and I know that they (the Kroenkes) are completely okay with that and they have really supported us.”
A man who is likely to be on Arteta’s Want List is Odegaard, 22 years old.
