The Indian government has banned several online games in recent years due to increasing incidents.
Over the years, the Indian government has introduced strict regulations when it comes to online gaming. The government is also taking firm action against online gambling companies that do not comply with the rules. Now, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has revealed that the state government is planning to introduce a law to regulate online gambling.
According to a report by ANI, Mishra said, “We are going to introduce a law in Madhya Pradesh to regulate online gambling. The draft is ready and will be submitted to the cabinet for final approval.”
As revealed by the minister, the state government plans to form a regulatory body that will take care of online gaming. The minister’s statement follows incidents in which children become addicted to online gaming. The announcement was made after the alleged suicide of an 11-year-old boy while playing a game online.

“We will make changes to the law on public gambling and a law to regulate online gambling platforms will be introduced soon,” Mishra noted.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the Madhya Pradesh government has unveiled its plan to regulate online gambling in the state. The government announced in January this year that a law will be introduced to regulate gaming applications on mobile phones.
