Japan’s main opposition parties have unified their candidates in just 11 of 32 districts where only one seat each is up for grabs in the July 10 House of Councilors elections.
All 11 districts will see effective one-on-one battles between a ruling bloc candidate and an opposition candidate in the three-year ballot for the upper house of parliament.
