The management of the Federal Polytechnic of Ede, Osun, has denied reports about the extension of the mandate of the current rector, Dr. John Taiwo Adekolawole.
The institution’s Board of Management, in a statement signed by its Registrar, Akinpade AO obtained by DAILY POST, denied the rumor and added that there was not an iota of truth in the news.
The Council, which said it had not considered such an extension of the term, added that it was not going to consider it every time the term of the current rector, Dr Adekolawole, expires.
According to the statement, “The Board of Directors, during its plenary session held on Monday, June 20, 2022, considered the rumor circulating at École Polytechnique that the Board was considering granting an extension of the term of office of the rector at the expiry of his term and stated categorically that there is an iota of truth in the rumor as the Board has not and will not consider extending the term of the Rector when his term expires.
While imploring the polytechnic community to disregard the rumor, she hinted that an advertisement for the position of rector had been sent to the press for publication.
Osun Polytechnic management denies rumor of rector’s term extension
