Grange replaces Heath in the National B&B Programs Unit
Jeff Grange was appointed president of Tampa Programs, part of Brown & Brown National programs, which includes Dental Protection Plan, Lawyer Protection Plan, Optometrist and Physician Protection Plans, and other professional insurance programs.
Grange replaces Susan Heath who is retiring after a 23-year career with Brown & Brown.
“She left a mark on the Tampa programs that will be forever admired and respected,” Chris Walker, president of Brown & Brown national programs, said of Heath.
Grange has over 30 years of experience in the industry. Most recently, he was executive vice president of US operations for Argo Group. His responsibilities included claims, Argo Insurance, Rockwood Casualty Insurance Co., Argo Pro, Argo Cyber, Argo Primary Casualty and Argo Excess Casualty.
From 2013 to 2019, Grange was President of Specialty and Commercial Insurance for QBE North America as well as Global Head of Commercial Credit and Surety. Prior to QBE, he was Chairman of the Group Underwriting Committee and a global leader in management and professional liability at Torus Insurance. He also spent 20 years with the Chubb Group, where he held various global leadership roles. Grange is part of the North American Board of Advisors for Catalyst, a global non-profit organization that works to help create workplaces that work for women.
National Programs are made up of 29 general management agencies and program administrators offering 65 insurance markets, including small business, forestry, special events, professional liability, municipalities and educational institutions.
Batta joins Bridge Wholesale in operations
Wholesale specialized bridge, the newly created subsidiary of Brown & Brown, has appointed Anurag Batta as COO of Bridge Specialty Group.
In this newly created role, Batta will be responsible for driving business transformation and profitable growth. He will work closely with Stephen M. Boyd, President, and other senior executives.
Batta brings 20 years of strategic and operational experience to Bridge Specialty Group. Prior to joining Bridge Specialty Group, Batta was COO of Zurich North America, where he was responsible for strategy, business transformation, innovation, customer experience, data and analysis, corporate communications and marketing.
Bridge Specialty Group was launched in February 2021 by Brown & Brown to encompass its over 25 leading wholesale insurance companies and is focused on bringing the power of collective size and specialty to the wholesale brokerage market. .
Rhodes leads Liberty Mutual workers’ compensation claims
Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Virna Rhodes to lead its workers’ compensation claims organization, which handled more than 300,000 new claims in 2020, representing more than $ 3 billion in medical and compensation payments.
Global Risk Solutions claims director Steve Deane said Rhodes will lead an organization for injured workers and clients of Helmsman Management Services, Liberty Mutual’s wholly-owned third-party administrator.
Prior to joining Liberty Mutual in 2013 and then moving to commercial insurance claims, Rhodes managed a range of claims teams at Allstate Insurance and Farmers Insurance.
Rhodes takes over as head of the workers’ compensation organization from Wes Hyatt, who was recently appointed Chief Client Officer, Global Risk Solutions.
