GOTHENBURG, Sweden, September 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Minesto to join Swedish business delegation at United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27 takes place in Egypt in Nov. The partnership offers good opportunities to spread knowledge about how the ocean’s energy-rich and 100% predictable tidal and ocean currents could soon be an important part of balancing the global energy system.
Minesto has signed an agreement with Business Sweden to join the Swedish delegation to the UN Climate Conference as a partner, COP27in Sharm El Sheikho, Egypt, from Nov. 7-18. The partnership will enable Minesto to connect international utilities and governments with information about the company’s technology.
“We are proud to have been selected to be part of the Swedish Pavilion at COP27 and show the world how our underwater dragons, which draw green energy from tides and ocean currents, are part of the solution to the compelling climate challenge. Our technology is particularly suited to coastal and island countries that are most susceptible to the changes caused by rising temperatures,” say Martin EdlundCEO of Minesto.
The Minesto power station uses the energy of the ocean currents, making it possible to extract local, independent and predictable energy.
“Our dragons are a great complement to other renewable energy sources. Because the ocean is constantly flowing, our power plants have the potential to generate green electricity around the clock. In this way, we not only reduce carbon dioxide emissions, but also add stability to the energy system Our presence on COP27 aims to put predictable ocean energy firmly on the global agenda,” concludes Martin Edlund.
