Restaurant worker clings to hood of moving car during teens’ ‘dine and dash’ attempt

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (KABC) — Three teens reportedly attempted to “dine and run” from a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Ohio, taking an employee for a wild ride on the hood of their car as they attempted to flee.

The Sunday evening incident was partially captured by a police car’s dashboard camera responding to the scene in Willoughby, where the suspects’ vehicle reached speeds of up to 60 mph as the restaurant worker clung to the bonnet.

The fleeing car eventually got stuck in the snow.

The 16-year-old driver and her two friends, both 17, have been arrested, police said.

“I saw our manager leave through the front door and say, ‘I’m going to call the police,'” says Kayla Sherman, a restaurant worker. “It caught me off guard, so I ran out with him.”

Willoughby Police Detective Lieutenant John Begovic said: “It doesn’t surprise me anymore.

“Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something comes up again,” the lieutenant said. “Again, we’re just thankful that no one was seriously injured in this case.”
