“Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid will be concerned”: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Team India’s recent form | Cricket News

After a forgettable Asia Cup campaign, in which it failed to qualify for the final, the Indian cricket team started their T20I series against Australia with a loss of four wicket. Despite a total of 208 runs, a tame Indian bowling attack failed to defend the high goal. The worst part about the team is that with five official T20Is to go before the opening of the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan on October 23, the Indian team is looking very unsettled.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly acknowledged that not being able to perform well in major tournaments is a concern.

“Rohit Sharma has a win rate close to 80. India has lost the last three to four matches but before that he was in the lead in 35-40 matches and only lost five or six. I’m sure Rohit and Rahul Dravid are concerned will make about the team and everything, and they will improve,” Ganguly told PTI news agency.

“I’m not worried about one or two defeats, but yeah, we haven’t done well in big tournaments. We’ll talk about that. The team will leave for two to three weeks (to T20 World Cup in Australia) and get time to acclimatize and play practice matches.”

Speaking about Virat Kohli’s past century, he said: “It is very good news that Virat has done well in Asia Cup, and hopefully he will continue in that spirit.”
