Sadio Mane signed autographs wearing a Bayern Munich shirt on Tuesday after flying to Germany for a medical check before the Liverpool striker completed his move to the Bundesliga champions. Broadcaster Sky showed footage of the 30-year-old landing at Munich airport before being taken to a city center hospital for a medical examination by Bayern’s team doctor. During a break from the medical test, Mane appeared in a red Bayern training shirt and signed autographs for the waiting fans.
According to the media, Mane’s transfer will cost Bayern around €41m (£35m, $43m).
“I’m happy he landed,” Thomas Mueller said at a golf tournament in Munich on Tuesday.
The Bayern German international striker has joked that he hopes to see Mane hitting “lots of birdies” on the city courses soon.
The Senegal striker is set to sign a three-year contract and is expected to hold his first press conference at Bayern on Wednesday.
Mane would replace Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona, or winger Serge Gnabry, who is stalling on a contract extension.
